ANTARTICA 2 GORE-TEX® JACKET
BACK TO PRODUCT
The Antarctica GORE-TEX® 2 jacket is the most advanced motorcycle touring garment, ideal when exploring the coldest lands on the planet. Designed to ensure superlative thermal insulation and greater protection in the most extreme conditions.
Inspired by research into the human body’s lines of non-extension, used by Dainese and MIT when designing the space suits that NASA astronauts will wear on their journey to Mars, this jacket combines maximum protective technology with ergonomics that ensure total freedom of movement in the saddle.
The 20,000 mm GORE-TEX® laminated membrane serves as a shield against rain, snow and atmospheric agents, allowing its wearer to tackle long journeys in all conditions, with the benefit of maximum breathability. The 700 Fill Power down lining, which is removable and can be worn separately, offers ultimate thermal insulation, essential when exploring in the coldest climates on earth.
Large front air vents directed to the body are easy to operate while wearing gloves and allow the wearer to set the ideal level of ventilation for maximum comfort when traveling.
Antartica 2 GORE-TEX® is designed to offer maximum practicality even on the most demanding journeys. Two floating, waterproof side pockets, a large waterproof cargo pocket on the back, and the iconic external G.O. Pockets for the stowing of gloves during short breaks allow the wearer to conveniently store all essential equipment so that it is always close at hand.
Protection in every situation is guaranteed by Pro-Armor Lev. 2, Type B protectors on the shoulders and elbows, which boast the highest level of certification and coverage area for limb protectors, while ventilation and freedom of movement are guaranteed by Dainese Pro-Armor technology, inspired by the geometries of natural fractals. A pocket on the back allows for the insertion of a removable Pro-Armor back protector.
The areas most sensitive to impact are reinforced with exclusive Trixior D-Tec, an engineered fabric that is highly resistant to abrasion and wear. Its electronic processing ensures the optimum thickness and structure so as to faithfully trace the body’s movements.
The jacket also features an advanced ergonomic lumbar belt for fit adjustment and neoprene cuffs.

HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF
CHEST
Chest circumference
The measurement of the chest in its maximum extension during normal breathing, measured with the person standing, passing the measuring tape horizontally around the torso over the scapula bones (the shoulder blades) and just under the armpits.
ARM
Sleeve length from shoulder (arm straight)
The distance from the most protruding point of the shoulder to the wrist (on the end of the Ulna bone), measured with the arm relaxed at the person's side.
NECK
Neck circumference
The circumference measured at 2 cm below the Adam's apple in the front, and at the 7th cervical vertebra in the back (i.e. NOT horizontally).
WAIST
Waist circumference
The circumference measured horizontally around the waist, just above the highest point of each of the iliac crest bones, during normal breathing, on the person standing, with a relaxed abdomen.
